Wardrobe Obsession

Well you may or may not notice this about me but.. I absolutely love plain, loose flowy tops with thin spaghetti straps (Thinner the better mmmm). Take for example, my Bangkok haul:

HAHAHAH about 90% of these are loose flowy tops in either chiffon or silk, different colors and minor details in the straps. I'm addicted, when I shop with my friends, it's so predictable! Line, sinker, and I'm hooked hahaha.

I guess cause I'm never one for dressing differently.. And nothing too daring. Everything I have is safe, and plain loose tops can't be safe enough! That's why its my closet must have, I can match them with absolutely ANYTHING. Nah:

Plus I think it's classy and simple I guess. It's a basic wardrobe necessity.. like underwear HAHAHA. Oh and you can't have a loose, thin strap tops without... Jeng jeng jeng, strapless bras, even though it's so hard to find good, staying strapless bras (Especially for me.. No clarification needed there lolol). I'm just so anal about that I swear. I guess I'm a bit OCD about that. I feel like wearing normal bras with it makes it look so messy, and even though it's just a minor detail.. Well, I'm also very very anal about minor details hahaha.

Take this for example, received this top from @theclothingmarket and what I absolutely LOVE about this top is.. The small, quadruple straps behind, it's a minor detail but I love it. Mmmm like korean pancakes. I love minor details like I love my korean pancakes.

Anyway go follow and support The Clothing Market on insta for updates on pretty clothes! ^^

sweet16commy

Polka dots dress and off shoulder top from @sweet16commy!

Had a crazy obsession with chiffon before.. But now it's satin and silk! So surprised when the polka dress arrived that its made out of quality satin, so plus point!

Also been wanting to get a top like this for a long time cause its kind of the trend right now but never did as I was doubtful that I could pull it off. When I received this top I was still doubtful. Until I wore it, that is. Ok la not bad I can pull it off somewhat right! LOL

Check out their facebook and website for other goodies!

Bangkok: Shopping

Shopping post.. Basically this is going to be very useless information cause most of the time I dunno where the hell I am ok LOL cause lets just say I basically just played followed the leader so most of the time I am CLUELESS as to where we are. BUT I do remember some of my favourite places to shop: Platinum mall! The night market on the street near Paragon! Chatuchak! And other markets I don't know the name of! But standard la, these are memang the places you HAVE to visit for shopping! Scored so many goodies yumyum (As in yum yum in my wardrobe hehe).

Nah my haul:
It's actually not much compared to everyone else. And I regret. I regret like SHIT. All because I'm a freaking cheapo la whyyyyy. My resolution at first was to only buy clothes that are priced below RM20 cause I thought I was being a smarty pants to avoid buying expensive things and regret it later (ironic). I regret with my entire being because even though its slightly expensive (RM30-40), it would've been WORTH IT. Coming back Malaysia, I see all these exact same clothes selling on blogshops for like RM50+ and I can't help feeling like THAT DRESS COULD BE MINE if only I wasn't so goddamned cheap with my money...

Soooo here's your tip if you ever go Bangkok: Don't hold back on the shopping, cause you're going to regret it. Also, because you can't just go back Bangkok whenever you feel like it.

Anyway, overall it was one of the best experience of my life, had so much fun with awesome people. SO SO glad I went on this trip!

MH17

Seriously, in light of what happened to the recent flight MH17, everything else just seems a lot more insignificant. Even though I didn't know anyone on the flight, it just kind of feels like talking about anything happier makes me feel almost guilty, because 295 people and a lot more relatives and friends are devastated.

I don't know why, but somehow it changed something in me. When MH370 disappeared.. Well I was concerned, and that was it. It didn't make much of an impact in my life. Not until this. I'm just horrified now.

I'm horrified at how during this Russia-Ukraine issue going on.. MH17 and its passengers are just casualties of war.

I know despite warnings to avoid Ukraine airspace, how does that justify shooting down a civillian aircraft that was just passing through? MH17 certainly has nothing to do with the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Was it to send a message then? An accident? Doubtful. How can you mistake a large commercial aircraft for a fighter jet, and then launch a missile at it? I don't think thats how firing a missile works, right?

What do they even accomplish from this? Cause as far as I see it, nothing. That what makes it even more horrible, because these people were just casualties to a war not their own. They didn't die to benefit neither Russia nor Ukraine. I cannot stress enough how people died for no cause, not even an end to the crisis going on, but rather lead to a beginning of worse things to come.

What's going to happen next? Because an innocent, civillian aircraft was shot down, there's bound to be repercussions. I don't know from who, to whom, or what, but I don't believe the people, leaders, politicians are going to just sit down and accept this. Like I said, worse things are coming in light of this, which means possibly more tragedies, more deaths, I don't know.

I'm just scared at how many innocent people must die because of this. Yeah yeah I know, innocent people die everyday:

But somehow this just made me open my eyes. Believe it or not, this is going to set off a chain of events.. And I hope I'm wrong. I know a lot of countries have this no involvement policy going on since the Russia-Ukraine crisis but seeing this now, I don't know how the other countries are expected to sit back and possibly wait for another tradegy to strike its people.

I dunno what the point of this post was. I'm just a little scared for everyone and whats to come.

Bangkok: Accommodation

For the first 3 days we stayed at Link Corner Hostel. Kudos to free wifi and strategic location, but other than that.. It's basically like a dorm: bunk beds, shared toilet cubicles. Not even allowed to have food in our room, but the hall is super accommodating and comfy so we didn't mind eating in the main hall and all. But basically we just stayed there cause it was cheap + it was nearby to a lot of places (Platinum mall, night markets and other malls I don't even know the name of - we just walked everywhere in a 5 mile radius lo I think LOL leg pain like shit)

Also no pictures of this hostel at all cause.. Not really nice to take pictures leh LOL (Yeah above pictures are really irrelevant but whatever). But like I said, it's a budget hostel that costs about RM30 a night per person... So yeah ^^

The next 4 days was spent at a nicer hotel! Well actually, it's a service apartment, but I seriously couldn't tell the difference. There was room service, bell boys (which you have to tip) and basically everything a normal hotel has to offer.. Except they weren't just any normal hotel, they were amazing!

Ehhh.. Except the part where the wifi isn't so.. Flexible? As in, since the apartment was meant for only 6 people (we had 10 people.. Had to sneak in an extra 4 people hehe), only 6 people get to use the wifi at one time, but no big deal!

And and our view!! Damn I miss our balcony sessions :(

Also: pool. But we spent most of our days busy shopping, so by the time we get back, the pool is already closed (10pm) so a bit wasted lo. Only swam once I think :(

Oh right and in case you guys were wondering (or not), the situation in Bangkok is.. Completely fine? No riots no NOTHING. Curfew is gone too. Some people told me there would be military posted everywhere but.. Also nope. Except one that we passed by:

But it felt more like a tourist attraction cause loads of people were flooding to take pictures, instead of you know, doing military-ish work LOL (ya wtf Cherish why you so sampat)

Nah other random, grainy pics (what, did you seriously expect me to lug my DSLR around)

Also: My god. Every time I just open my front camera to casually check my hair, someone would pop up behind and "photobomb" me. Hair like shit btw, but what to do, so hot. (FUCKING HOT, ESPECIALLY AT CHATUCHAK MARKET CAN MELT DIE ME)

Bangkok: Food

Hur hur window seat, booya.

So I went Bangkok last week at the SUPER last minute (NOT even exaggerating). What happened was everyone already flew to Bangkok the day before, and the bf was due to fly alone the next day. So the night before he was about to fly, I talked to my parents. Again. Kind of like one last shot, I mean it doesn't hurt to try right. The worse that could happen is just a resounding NO (and a week of staying home cause my friends are abroad T.T), and so I did not expect them to say yes after saying no I dunno how many times beforehand (yep I'm an independent 19 y/o guys...) Plus, I only got my parents to say yes at 12am on the same date the bf was going to fly over.

Stayed up all night (2 hours of sleep nia) packing for a 1 week stay and worrying over my flight tickets cause I had problem buying them online BUT I managed to buy a ticket at like 7am in the morning for a 1pm flight, the same flight with the bf luckily.

Really really wanted to go on this trip cause I'm on break right now until uni intake in October, so this is probably my last chance to enjoy and travel before I get into uni and dive into studies and assignments and shit!!! Then after uni it's gonna be more work yay!!! So yeah wanted to make the best of this holiday (So far not going so well.. Except this trip. Other than that, I stayed home. Damn I need a social life..)

Face at 7am vs post-makeup:

Self confidence shattered T_T (I even did the same pose for comparison sake ok)

Anyway can't really say much about Bangkok. It's pretty much like KL.. But with better malls.. And loads of pretty, cheap clothes. But let me just say the most life changing thing about going Bangkok is... The 7elevens.

I'm not even kidding. Dead serious moment right now. Their 7elevens are absolutely mind changing. Coming back to KL I feel like the sun has left my universe. Their 7e is nothing short of amazing. Their precooked frozen food are the best. And they heat it up for you when you buy it. A precooked meal costs about RM2.90 (SO MUCH FUCKING CHEAPER THAN HAWKER CENTRE FOOD OK) and it tastes... So. Fucking. Amazing. Give me 7e frozen food over gourmet anyday please. So yeah, we spent most of our lunch, dinner AND supper just having 7e food. Can you blame us? Omnomnom. (Ok yeah yeah probably no surprise for most of you but it was my first time in Bangkok ok!) (Seriously though.. I don't understand why Msia's 7e has to be so.. Lacking. Just imagine how much more they'd be earning lor! BOOO)

I guess you could say this is just kinda like a foodie post? Shopping and accommodation and stuff in the next few!

Nah enjoy mouth watering deliciousio thai food (mmmmm) (hint: you can bribe me with thai food anytime)

OHOH CAN WE NOT FORGET ABOUT STREET SNACKS. SUPA CHEAP AND SUPER FREAKING GOOD......... shit me, this is not a good time do be doing a foodie post at 2.21am (my feeding time)

FUCKING JUICY PORK SATAY THAT'S JUST LIKE RM1 A STICK. UGHHHHH.

AND AND THIS TOO!!! CAPITAL LETTERS AND LOADS OF EXCLAMATION MARKS WILL NOT JUSTIFY HOW GOOD THIS IS. I guess it's like a crepe, the "skin" is crispy but when you put it in your mouth... It just melts oh my god. It melts into a warm explosion of condense milk, sugar, chocolate and banana (even though I dislike banana, this was an exception I'm willing to make all time any time)

Uhhh not thai food, but who cares, still tasty anyway (ya enjoy the chubby, happy face)

7E FOOD UGHHH SEE WHAT I TOLD YOU. SUPER GOOD PIECE OF CHICKEN (and rice, duh). (Actually not 7e la, it's from a convenience store called Lawson, but still a convenience store!)

Also, most pictures taken with my fish eye/wide angled lenses. I've opened pre-orders again that closes this friday! Wechat/line me at dearmadeleine for more info ^^
